Yes, I am a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician, with further board certification in Functional Medicine, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Wahls Protocol for treatment of autoimmune disease and The Bredesen Protocol for Cognitive Decline.
Yes! As a Family Medicine Physician with specialty training in Functional Medicine, I am fully trained and licensed to prescribe medication and hormone therapy. My goal is to help you become the healthiest version of yourself. This may include prescriptions for diet and lifestyle modifications, hormone therapy, supplements, or medication tailored to your needs.
Functional medicine takes a highly individualized approach to health, which doesn’t fit within the traditional medical model of 15-minute appointments. For this reason, I am not contracted with any health insurance providers. However, your insurance may cover certain labs, tests, and medications. I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance (not applicable for HMO or Medicare). Additionally, you may be able to use your HSA account to cover the cost of your visits with me.
As a Functional Medicine Physician, I am committed to helping you live a healthier life and possibily lessen or eliminate the need for medication. However, your personal physician is still needed for annual physicals, preventive exams, urgent visits and maintenance of current medications. You will also be recommended to maintain a relationship with your specialists (neurology, psychiatry, etc.)
Yes! I currently see clients from multiple states including: California, Arizona, Oregon, Nebraska, Colorado, West Virginia, Ohio, Virginia and Maryland.
I make a concerted effort to be a good steward of your time, money, and energy. For this reason, I don’t “sell” medications, supplements, or labs. Instead, I help you choose the best options in the most cost-effective way possible.
My goal is always to help you improve your health while also empowering you to understand how to take care of yourself.
As a traditionally trained medical doctor with many years of experience in both Family Medicine and Functional Medicine, I can easily combine my knowledge of standard “western medicine” with the advanced, integrative approach of Functional Medicine. With me, you’re truly getting the best of both worlds!

My mission is to reach as many people as possible, showing that it is truly possible to Age Boldly! Aging boldly means not accepting pain and chronic disease as a normal progression of life. We can prevent and reverse chronic disease. Women especially can benefit greatly from hormone therapy as it has been proven to prevent and reverse many chronic diseases of aging. Women’s health has been devalued, creating a huge detriment to society. I am driven to change that!
I am a Family Medicine Physician. I attended Medical School at Western University of Health Science and graduated as an Osteopathic Medical Doctor. Osteopathic Medicine is well-aligned with Functional and Integrative Medicine in that it emphasizes wellness, disease prevention and helping the body to heal itself. Osteopathic Medicine seeks to use all tools available, including modern medication and surgery, in addition to hands-on diagnostic and treatment techniques. Osteopaths are fully licensed and certified physicians. I completed my Family Medicine residency at an allopathic (M.D.) program in California, where I served as Co-chief resident. I also completed a sub-track training program in Global Health, where I worked in Africa serving the patients of developing countries.
I have been treating patients in all walks of life since graduating medical school in 2007. I worked as a board-certified HIV physician, participated in multiple international medical missions and treated patients of all ages as a traditional Family Medicine Physician. Having spent much time in the clinics, urgent care, hospitals and Emergency Rooms, I can fully appreciate the disconnect between patients and their physicians. While doctors are trying their best to help as many people as possible, many still leave the office with a sense of misaligned goals and the feeling of not being understood. This disconnect cannot be corrected in the construct of our current medical system. This gap in communication, understanding and holistic care is where the Functional Medicine Revolution begins!
